Amy Nuttall - Ethal Parkes
Amy Nuttall was born in Bolton ( 7 June 1982) She is an English actress and singer most notable for playing the role of Chloe Atkinson in the long-running ITV soap opera Emmerdale from 2000 to 2005.
She is credited as the youngest actress to ever understudy and play the lead role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera (at age 17).
In 2005, she released her debut album as a Classical vocalist Best Days on EMI Classics and filmed Music Video's for her tracks Best days, No greater gift and a version of Scarborough Fair which was heavily requested on Classic FM TV. Best days peaked at number 4 in the UK classical chart and was nominated for album of the year at the 2006 Classical BRIT Awards. In the Autumn of 2005, Amy toured the UK extensively as Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady to critical acclaim.In October 2006 she made her West End debut as Sister Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly Theatre.In May 2007, she joined the cast of the stage revival of Boeing-Boeing at the Comedy Theatre
On 2 October 2007, Amy replaced Kim Medcalf in the London production of Cabaret at the Lyric Theatre. Amy appeared on Hotel Babylon in 2009 as Melanie Hughes, the new hotel receptionist.
On 14 July 2011, Amy was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Bolton.

It was announced on February 18, 2011, that Amy had signed on to series two of Downton Abbey, appearing as the Abbey's new maid, Ethel Parks.After spending her first day on the set of ITV1’s Downton Abbey after joining the cast, She said Highclere Castle is the impressive location for Downton Abbey and Amy was taken aback when she saw the house for the first time.“When I glimpsed Highclere Castle for the first time it was breathtakingly amazing,’ she says.“It’s even more gorgeous and beautiful in person. It’s so big but the cameras make it look bigger still.”
Amy shared her first scenes for the new series of Downton Abbey with Mrs Hughes (Phyllis Logan), Anna (Joanne Froggatt) and Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham played by Maggie Smith.
Amy said: "I was in the first scene of the first day of the shoot and I was working with Dame Maggie Smith!
“I plumped a few cushions, said a few lines with the lovely Jo Froggatt and Phyllis Logan and then I had to curtsy when Violet came in.”
